Powders

Cerablak® UTF barrier coatings can be applied to passivate and protect small- and large-sized powder materials. Metal and ceramic powders ranging from sub-micron to several microns are used in many applications where their environmental degradation is a severe problem.

Demonstrations:

Cerablak® UTF-coated powdered magnesium has reduced moisture-induced degradation by a factor of three in accelerated testing in humid environments. Despite the highly reactive nature of magnesium powder, the Cerablak® barrier coating was successfully applied without significantly altering particle size or weight.
